The vinyl run is so close to being finished, and they should be shipping in the next two weeks. The test pressings sound amazing! Barker / Parker / Irabagon - Bakunawa (OOYH 030) documents the extraordinary first meeting of the well established duo of Andrew Barker (drums) and Jon Irabagon (reeds) in a trio with the legendary bassist William Parker. Irabagon and Barker released their duo recording Anemone in 2020, and Barker is a regular member of William Parker’s Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra. But this is the first time that William Parker and Jon Irabagon have played together, and avant-jazz fans are lucky that the tape was rolling. Bakunawa captures all three of these improvisers in peak form, and releases on August 30 on Out Of Your Head Records in LP + Digital formats.
