About Us

Out Of Your Head Records is an artist-run Richmond/Brooklyn-based label dedicated to releasing creative music and original visual art in limited runs.

Our name has a history to it. OOYH Records grew out of the currently inactive Out Of Your Head Collective, an improvised music community dedicated to presenting one-time-only ensembles in improvised performances, originally in Baltimore, MD and later in Brooklyn, NY. While the label has a different concept, it certainly continues in the spirit of the collective, and in due time you will see releases from more members of those communities.

Adam Hopkins

Adam Hopkins is a bassist and composer originally from Baltimore, MD now living in Brooklyn, NY with his wife Maggie and his dog named Cat. He founded Out Of Your Head Records in 2018 with the intent to showcase music of his own, and music and art of his friends that he loves and admires. OOYH 001 will be his debut release as a leader, Crickets. Adam was co-founder of the Out Of Your Head Collective in Baltimore 2009, and started the Brooklyn chapter when he relocated in 2011. adam-hopkins.com

TJ Huff

TJ Huff is a visual artist and musician from Brooklyn, NY. With a penchant for weirdo music and weirdo design, he helps navigate the visual waters for OOYH records and hopes your eyes might like the fruits of his weird obsessions. huffart.com.

Nick Prevas

Nick Prevas is an illustrator and designer based in Baltimore, MD. Since 2016 he's worked as design manager for the Baltimore Ravens. Before that, he headed up marketing and communications for the American Visionary Art Museum, and has collaborated with a variety of clients—big and small—for their design and visual branding needs. Nick is thrilled to be helping establish the visual brand and marketing efforts for the OOYH label. He takes his coffee black, plays a white Fender Mustang, enjoys custom painting Funko Pops, and obsesses over David Lynch movies. Scott Clark

Drummer, composer, painter, Scott Clark has been an active member of the Richmond, VA music scene for years as a musician, concert organizer and collaborator with musicians from around the US and beyond. He has two records as a leader, Bury My Heart (2015 Clean Feed) and ToNow (2018 Clean Feed). Scott is excited to join in Out Of Your Head Records journey to release, and promote, great music from around the world. scottwclark.com
