ANNOUNCING: Nick Dunston - COLLA VOCE (OOYH 027), due out April 26 on CD + Digital (and who knows...there might be a very limited LP down the line if there is interest). Nick is a staple of our artist roster, and we are thrilled to be releasing his third studio album on OOYH Records. COLLA VOCE, Dunston’s Afro-Surrealist Anti-Opera, is by far his most ambitious work to date, combining the NYC-based JACK Quartet with Nick on bass and a Berlin-based ensemble featuring four vocalists and five additional instrumentalists. Nick and Weston Olencki spent many hours collaborating on every step of the production, and the end result is a work truly like nothing we’ve heard before. We have so much more music to share soon, as well as a peek behind the curtain as to how this was made. For now you can check out the track Ova’churr only on Bandcamp (link in comments), which in Nick’s words is “technically/literally all of the music on the album in the span of like 90 seconds.” The first official single, Fully Turbulent, drops on March 6, and check out that sweet album cover by TJ Huff (huffart.com)!
