Swarasa on OOYH Untamed (Candra Rini / Hopkins / Clark / McGraw) OUT NOW!

OOYH Untamed is back!! We're super excited to release Swarasa (OOYH U008) featuring Peni Candra Rini, Adam Hopkins, Scott Clark, and Andy Mcgraw OUT TODAY! We didn't do a pre-order for this one, just wanted to get it out there quickly. Peni was in Richmond on a Fulbright for the semester (she is also fresh off a performance with Kronos Quartet at Carnegie Hall, and another tonight in DC for anyone in the area, go see it!) and right before she left in May 2023 Andy suggested Adam and Scott come and improvise a little bit. He rolled tape, and it was awesome. It was also the day after Peni had a root canal, and she sang the most incredible stuff (especially considering she had to be in pain still!) We're having a release party for this on Monday 11/13 at Artspace Richmond as part of the OOYH Records 5th Anniversary Party. Free download cards of the album with the price of admission.

As always, the awesome art/design for Untamed is by TJ Huff (huffart.com), and we're scheming a t-shirt with all these animals on it soon. It'll be our own little OOYH Untamed zoo. Also heads up that we have another surprise Untamed album coming out next Friday 11/17. You won't want to miss that one!

All album sales for OOYH Untamed go to the artist and the albums are digital-only (and only on Bandcamp). Swarasa was recorded by Andy McGraw in the University of Richmond Gamelan studio, and mixed by our dude Lance Koehler at Minimum Wage Recording in Richmond. It features Peni Candra Rini (vocals), Adam Hopkins (bass), Scott Clark (drums), and Andy McGraw (percussion). We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!
